the jeweled spider

the jeweled spider had finally found her
she waited for it’s fatal bite
it sang it’s death song
beautiful and haunting
for an hour before it moved to
consume her eyes
the jeweled spider almost had it’s full set
of pickled eyes for the journey
the price to get into
Heaven’s Gate
the best damn spider bar in all the land
and every spiders dream

she knew she was to be a prize
for entrance to that disastrous bar
ever since she had heard the tiny spiders
whisper to her after she killed each one
the whispers grew louder
and she heard the curse
they called to the jeweled spider
she lay quietly and waited
for the song to end
