in his arms

image untitled on flickr

she wanted to dance
under the pale moonlight
as the movie said
she wanted to dance
the flesh off her bones
and fall to pieces
in the ‘private’ park
so even if a clean up crew
cleaned her up
she would never leave

small bits of her
would linger
rot away in the grass
call the ants to ruin any
jolly picnic parties
and smell up any posh
outdoor summer weddings

she wanted to make ruins
of his home, his life
his heart
and take as much from him
as he had taken from her

and she wanted to die
preferably in his arms
watching as his heart broke
but mostly she wanted to die

About Kary

I write many things, prose, poems, prose, flash fiction, and novels. I've always loved the free form poem, and practice it most often. Feedback welcome. View all posts by Kary
